Summary

Virginie Achim is an Assistant Professor in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. Her specialty is head and neck surgical oncology, microvascular reconstruction, and transoral robotic surgery as well as thyroid/parathyroid surgery. Dr. Achim works closely with Dr. Barry Wenig, Chair of the department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and Director of the head and neck cancer program at UI Health.

Her mission is to treat patients with benign and malignant tumors of the head and neck with a focus on maintaining quality of life. Dr. Achim's research interests include robotic surgery, nutritional optimization in surgical patients, and developing an enhanced recovery pathway for patients undergoing complex head and neck surgery and reconstruction.
